In addition to performing, I started writing songs seriously in 1983 when I moved to Nashville to become general counsel at a television entertainment company. Since that time, I have written hundreds of songs by myself and with many co-writers. My genres are country, country/rock, country/pop, adult contemporary, and even a few contemporary christian and gospel songs. My songwriting database software is MasterWriter. I record some demos in Nashville recording studios and create some with Sony Acid Pro in my home studio. Both methods are represented here. My high school rock band had so much fun regrouping in 2006 to play our 40th high school reunion that we decided to keep playing. All the images at the top of this page are from a performance of The "Old" New Continentals, as we now call ourselves, on Lake DeGray near Hot Springs, AR, in 2009 at a large reunion. The band members are Keath North (CA), vocals; myself (TX), vocals, keyboards & acoustic guitar; Bruce Foreman (IL), electric guitar; Jay Schafer (AR), bass; Rick Brightop (AR), electric guitar; and James Colton (AR), drummer.
